Welcome to the Hive!

Dear New Parents,

Thank you for your interest in our after school program. The past year has been a challenge for everyone, and we are very excited to get back to a more normal form of after school care for the 2021 - 2022 year! While virtual learning at Morris Brandon became the new normal for this past school year, our program adapted by moving over to Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church. We were incredibly lucky to have use of this space until we were allowed to return back to Morris Brandon. Thank you to all of those who stuck with us supported and encouraged us through this time! While many things will go back to normal, some changes we have made in our program will remain the same. We are holding off on releasing our parents handbook for next school year since there are still constant changes being made to ways we are allowed to operate. If you have any question about The Hive and how it will run this upcoming school year, please get in touch with your director located in the "Contact" page.

What is enrichment?
Enrichment classes are programs offered by independent contractors at the beginning of Hive time for an extra fee. Programs include Chess, Basketball, Hip Hop, Drama, Ballet, Brick4Kidz, Kids Tennis, Yoga, Art, Golf, and other classes! We will communicate via email once these options are available for registration.
What is the hive's daily schedule?
Here is a general schedule for a typical Hive day, however many of these activities may vary in content and times.
2:15-2:45 Snack Time (snack must be brought from home, however we carry back ups just in case!)
2:45-3 Clean up, restroom break
3-3:45 Outside or gym recess, depending on weather
3:45-4:30(possibly until 5 depending on grade level) Homework Time
4:30/5- 5:45 Centers (games, puzzles, arts & crafts, teacher led activities)
5:45-6 Pack up and head to front desk area for sign out
will homework help be provided?
Yes! We strive to get every student's homework completed and checked by a teacher every single day before 4:30pm. If there are any additional things your child may need help with at this time, please let us know how we can help.
what level of daily communication should  expect from the hive?
The Hive teachers communicate with parents as needed at The Hive, we try to be structured while also allowing for children to relax after the long school day. If you wish to receive a daily report, please request by emailing your director (listed on the contact page).
What time does the hive close?
The Hive closes at 6pm. If you have a child at both campuses, you are allowed a 10 minute grace period thus your pick up time for the second child would be 6:10. We understand that traffic in Atlanta can hold you up occasionally, in these instances we request that you notify the director of your campus if you know you will be late. If you are late more than once, The Hive charges $1/minute.
Are parents allowed to visit the hive?
Currently, parents are not allowed inside the building during Hive hours.
Does the hive allow peanut products?
No, the Hive is strictly a nut free zone. We have many children with life threatening peanut allergies. Thank you for understanding!
